Nagmalitong Yawa SinagMaling Diwata is the Visayan goddess of liberation empowerment and demons. Her name translate into enchanting demon, bedazzling goddess

She represents the virtues of success in work and achievements and in combat, she did not wait for a man to rescue her instead she rescued one of Ancient Visaya's greatest warriror (Humadapnon)
Believed to be the daughter of Naguined and a Dayang (wife of a Datu) she was "binukot" meaning hidden and secluded from birth resulting to her having extremely white skin. She is trained in the arts of combat by the demons Arapayan and Makbarubak. She is popularly known as the savior of Humadapnon and wife of Saragnayan (the lord of darkness)


She is of fair skin, fairest in the land for she has not seen sunlight and her long dark hair like a cape of the night sky long and flowing that reaches down to her feet.

She is a Binukot, a Babaylan and a Mandirigma and a Diwata.
She was a demi-goddess before she ascended to being a deity. She was hidden and well kept a binukot,and in her seclusion she studied witchcraft, learned earthly healing using herbs, potions and poisons until she became a babaylan. in addition she also practiced the art of fighting and sword wielding. 
She is also the wife of Saragnayan, the deity of darkness, she is known for her beauty and shape-shifting skills. She is the one who rescued the demigod Humadapnon who was imprisoned by the evil enchantress Ginmayunan and by the beautiful Lubay Lubyok Mahanginun si Mahuyokhuyokan




some think she is born out of a night flower, Nagmalitong Yawa Sinagmaling Diwata came to the world already in adult unconsciously waking the desires of men. Her name can be translated as "beguiling demon, bedazzling goddess" she is seen by ancient visayans as both a malevolent deity and also a benevolent goddess all in one




She transformed her self into a boy took the name Buyong Sumasakay (he who rides) she summoned demons and rallied to the cave island called tarabang where she battled all the Kiral or Diya (seductive warrior women who were Lubay Lubyok Mahanginun si Mahuyokhuyokan's handmaidens and soldiers).
She and her demons won agains Lubay Lubyok Mahanginun si Mahuyokhuyokan's fierce women warriors, killed Ginmayunan and she defeated Lubay Lubyok Mahanginun si Mahuyokhuyokan proving her magic and her beauty was superior. After saving Humadapnon she left to get married to the man she loves who was the robust but ugly Sarangay.

 Her origin story varies, there are different versions of her birth, some say she was born out  of a night flower, when the flower bloomed she emerge out a fully grown woman, Pale as the moon and beautiful like the stars, some say she was frighteningly white. In some stories she is the daughter of the warlord Labaw Donggon and the princess Matanayon.
In other version it is said that there was a Datu who had many son's but did not have a daughter
he and his wife prayed to the gods and one night her wife had a dream that the 
gods visited her, and had made love to her in  ferocious and bestial ways they were trinity of gods of war  Naguinid, Arapayan and Makbarubak.

the Datu and his wife finally had their wish to have a daughter. They treasured her and hid her 
 from sight and from sunlight a hidden princess binocot.  At a young age she foresaw that she will be a bride 
 of a monster and had accepted and anticipated it. days and moons passed she grew fair and lovely, she was so beautiful that not even her brothers were allowed to see her for they might fall for her charms.her parents sent her to be secluded and guarded at the end of the river.
warrior women and acolyte priestesses were her mentors in her seclusion she learned the 
 arts of herbs and healing, she also learned how to wield a broad sword.
Her beauty now was matched by her ferocity in combat and her knowledge of herbs and healing
the gods visited her for they adored their daughter Naguinid thought her the art of poisons 
and spells, Arapayan and Makbarubak thought her the arts of combat and how to summon 
demons to do her bidding.

One evening she was carried in her hammock to bathe in the river, as her covered palanquin 
 passed by she let her hand slip through the covers, a young man saw her hand that was 
 white as the cooked flesh of shrimp the man was spelled and wanted her just by 
 seeing her hand, the young man rushed towards her hammock carried by slaves but he was killed 
 on the spot by demons who were protecting her.

Nagmalitong Yawa.she was desired by many but she knew she was going to be the bride of Saragnayen the lord of the land of darkness one day an umalagad came to her it was the guardian spirit of Humadapnon. the guardian spirit pleaded that she saved the young warrior for he had been trapped in an island cave by enchantresses and by a powerful demi-goddess, that only a demi-goddess can rival the captors. at first Nagmalitong Yawa was hesitant for it is informal and shameful for a woman to save a man but in the end she agreed. By powers vested by her by the gods themselves she transformed herself into a boy, she called herself Datu Sumasakay, she summoned Yawa(demons). They carried Datu Sumasakay and rallied crossing the sea to reach the island cave of tarambang

Datu Sumasakay and his demons reached the island cave, her demon’s battled the kiral who seductive warrior women were presenting themselves as binukotanwhile her demon's fought the warrior woman
Datu Sumasakay was carried inside the cave and she battled the true binukot who was in the deepset darkest room in the center of the cave.Lubay-Lubyok Hanginun si Mahuyokhuyokon was in her hammock and released lubay (enchantments) to control and sent her seductive minions to seduce and kill Datu Sumasakay. But Datu Sumasakay was not affected by Lubay-Lubyok Hanginun si 
 Mahuyokhuyokon's winds and love spells nor by the beautiful women, because she was a 
 woman herself.Datu Sumasakay and his demons slaughtered the women of taranbang
Malubay hanginon battled Datu sumasakay with magic, only to find out Datu Sumasakay's magic 
 and beauty was superior to hers.Shamed that a boy was more beautiful than her  Lubay-Lubyok Hanginun si Mahuyokhuyokon ordered the winds to blow away in her hammock.
Humadapnon was still under Malubay Hanginon's spell and they battled one another.
Datu Sumasakay beat Buyong Humadapnon in sword combat and she then used her magic to dispel 
 him, Buyong Humadapnon saw the Datu sumasakay was beautiful, she then turned back to Nagmalitong Yawa SInagmaling Diwata, she left carried by her demons.
Humadapnon fell inlove with her beauty and vowed to follow her


Nagmalitong Yawa Sinagmaling Diwata was carried by demons back to the end of river Halawod where Saragnayon the lord of darkness waited. He was tall and muscular with dark skin covered with so much tattoo that his skin seemed black. they were to wed
They shared vows and as part of the wedding ritual they each cut their arms and joined their 
 blood, their mix blood spawned tall, dark-skinned creautes Kapir (known today as Kapre)
Nagmalitong Yawa Sinagmaling diwata and Saragnayon became happy. Saragnayon took her 
 bride to gladum the land of eternal darkness. She loved her husband even if his appearance 
 was monstrous in contrasts with her ageless beauty, and for him he was the moon in his world of darkness.
They ruled the land happily until one day a biday nga inagta (black boat) came to their land, aboard was the warrior Buyong Labaw  Donggon The moment he set foot on the ground 
 Saragnayan asked him, “Who are you and why are you here?”
The foreign warrior replied boastfully that he was Buyong Labaw Donggon the son of Datu Paubari 
 and the goddess alunsina, that he came to take Nagmalitong Yawa Sinagmaling Diwata.
 Saragnayan laughed and told Buyong Labaw Donggon that what he wished for the impossible
 because she was his wife more precious to him than all the gold in the land more beautiful than 
 moon above. Labaw Donggon then challenged Saragnayan to a duel saying that whoever wins 
will have her...
