Lakapati/Ikapati/Lakanpati was the tagalog  god of fertility and cultivated fields. Depicted as a beautiful hermaphrodite that is also the protector of crops and farm animals. The great mother, the patron goddess and food giver for the ancient Tagalogs. Her name means "giver of food". Her worshipers pray to her for protection against starvation, she also protects growing crops and the animals.
In other myths she is the consort of the supreme deity Bathala or Abba. It was believed that she started creating the universe and it was Bathala who finished it. Her symbol was the dove or the Kalapati. During the Spanish colonization Ikapati was used by the Evangelist as the equal of the Holy spirit thus the dove or the kalapti today is still the symbol of the holy spirit.
