Princess Udaya or Urduja of Pre-colonial Pangasinan. Her beauty and her ferocity in combat was well known all over the Philippines. Her story is

Datu Urduja was the daughter of Ari Tawasili who ruled over a kingdom with the same name, some versions of the story say that she had a brother who was weak and timid in contrast to her powerful personality. Princess Urduja was depicted as strong, tall and beautiful, having long dark hair and golden-brown skin. A combatant who was skilled in archery and horseback and also in the arts of the handling two broad swords. Urduja was believed to have led fierce warrior women who were also adept in the arts of war via horseback, these amazon-like warriors were called Kinalakihan. Urduja's warriors were said to be a force to be reckon with able to pillage and sink Chinese junks,and that her warriors could even battle the ferocious "Visayan" raiders of the sea.
Prominently in all versions of her story she never married it is said that she would marry only the man who would beat her in combat, and no man ever did. Some versions say that she chose not to marry because her husband to be never made it to the shores of her domain that he and his envoy were killed at sea by Chinese pirates. Urduja's groom to be was from the "Visayas" said to be a special type of price that was well-kept and hidden from the sun, thus making him very fair and frail, the opposite of the warrior princess . In some versions she was linked to a certain rebel captain from chin lands named Limahong.
In the the stories about Urduja she was challenge by many nobles who wanted her kingdom and hand in marriage but all failed. She remained undisputed till the end thus immortalizing her fame and her legend.
