Long ago there is a colony in Taal ruled by the just and understanding Datu Balkote, he had a son Lakan-bata Tindalo, and he adopted a orphan who was a son of a farmer from the lower class, his name was Magat Mandapat.
Prince Tindalo and Mandapat grew up like brothers and did everything together, from studying the ancient scripts, fishing to hunting in the forest.

One day an manunugid or an epic chanter from the south came carried by his slaves, the manunguid was a veiled boy  because he was so beautiful that only nobles and gods were allowed to see his face. The epic chanter told Lakan-Bata Tindalo of a place where they worship no god and give no praise to their ancestors. the story fascinated prince Tindalo and he ventured on a quest with Mandapat. They rode their sacayan (small boat)
At the sea they faced a storm, the next day they awoke to a strange land. They saw that the alipin or the lower class were treated like animals doing hard labor. The two were captured and taken to the ruler of the land. The two realize that the storm had taken them to the godless land the epci chanter had told them about. The ruler was the ruthless Datu Pasig he ordered that Lakan-bata Tindalo and MAgat mandapat be whipped. But the princess Dayang sumilang realize that Tindalo was a noble a highborn because of his dialect, he spoke the language of the nobility. The two were spared and were now honored guests of the kingdom.
Prince Tindalo and Magat mandapat saw the oppression on the lower class, that they work hard on the land and in the mines and are not treated well. Magat Mandapat and Princess  Sumilang developed a romantic relationship. But since he is low born when the Datu found out Mandapat was mocked and was sent back to home.

Lakan-bata Tindalo and Magat Mandapat returned to the Pamayanan/kingdom of Datu Pasig with their warriors, but they were no match for the soldiers of Datu Pasig. Prince Tindalo was thrown in sea while Magat mandapat willl be burned alive. The princess did a very surprising thing, she prayed and it rained, thus saving the man she loves from the fire.
